Lazar Raditz was a well known portrait painter from Philadelphia. He attended the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and studied with William Merrit Chase. Raditz taught painting at the Fleisher Art Memorial and The Philadelphia School of Design for Women, now Moore College of Art. A portrait of the founder, Samuel Fleisher, painted by Raditz hangs today at the Fleisher Art Memorial. He is best known for his portraits and genre paintings.
